EDUCATIONAL FARM / CEAS

Over the years, the efforts made, in order to improve the image of ‘the fisherman’ and the valuable work he has done ever since for our economy, have been continuously boosted and renewed. The latest initiative in this aspect has been to create an Environmental Education Project that saw its launch in 2008, and which led to the realisation of an ‘Educational Farm’. The goal of this program is to convey a message of awareness about the sea, fishing and marine life in general.

This ‘message of life’ is addressed to the younger and future generations. The idea behind the initiative is to create a union between fishing and respect for the environment with a very specific rule:

“Preserving  the ecosystem through knowledge of the territory and its production companies”.

This initiative is therefore mainly aimed at schools, of all kinds, and aims to enhance the environment of the Tortolì Lagoon, the activities that take place there and the products that are the result of these activities.
With this initiative, the Tortoli Fishermen Cooperative renews its commitment each and every year and indiscriminately offers, to all schools on  Italian territory,  the opportunity to actively participate in the original project:

“A CLASSROOM IN THE LAGOON”.

Below you will find a brief summary of the activities on a typical day at the educational farm.
